I’m travelling now to my new home
At 27 I am starting again
In the harbour of night, looking for a lighthouse
To guide my tired boat in

I summon my courage to step ashore
My feet walking streets I don’t recognise
But we were all strangers before we met
Can you see it in my eyes ?

That it’s hard to dream and it’s hard to compete
Before you’ve had a chance to find your feet
Before you’ve understood the city’s ways

The wind whistles songs I’ve never heard
I keep listening though I don’t understand
But bonds started as souls standing alone
And this was once a foreign land

Moon shines on the road
That was built by men born here
Who eat from the crops they sowed
And keep their families near
